.....'The Weetbix Kids'.....

It started with one ....mushed up in a cup with milk and occasionally Milo,

and smeared across the high-chair table and through the hair,

....to two....three....and we usually maxed out at five....

(although I do remember more than a few 'sevens' as an after-school 'snack'

or after a 6am training session at the pool.!)

It's my theory that the number of Weetbix consumed

is directly related to the size of the feet!

School milk left out in the sun killed my tastebuds for the white liquid,

so my preference was for a lovely brick of wheat smeared

with butter and Vegemite.....

a taste for this delicacy strangely has never caught on with my kids!

St Kevins Art Show 2014

This is the 14th year that I've been exhibiting with the St Kevins Art Show.....

it was absolutely pivotal in my deciding to leave the corporate design world

and to pursue painting full-time.

In 2012 I painted 'The Vegemite Kids'.....and wrote about them here.....

.....and this year I'm exhibiting a painting named after another icon

of the Aussie palate..... note that's palate...not palette !  :)  ....

....yep....it's Weetbix!

off Parkdale Beach....look at the subtle reflection of the cloud !
...and I need to pick-up my photography skills!

We've been enjoying an 'Indian Summer'....

and the Melbourne record is likely to be broken for ' the most days

above 20 degrees C '.....

....these 'Children of Summer' look perfectly at home with

our soft turquoise skies.....

who would have thought we'd have such a mild glorious Autumn....

it's such a great light for painting.... although I'd much rather be outside!

...these little fellows are off to the St Kevins Art Exhibition....I hope they find a new home!

UPDATE: Thursday 22 May 2014....done....

12 days above 20 degrees C  (68 degrees F)...

....a new Melbourne record for May. 

Yay! here's to warm weather...but what about our snow? 

sigh :(

Summer isn't just about the beach..... it's that feeling of freedom...

that time is extended...whether it's on a bike,

in a hammock reading a book to the dog,

dangling and swinging from trees,

or building cubbies from nothing.... a sheet, some branches, an old umbrella.

these little paintings capture an idea.....  the days are long,

an adventure is waiting....let's go!

Canterbury Art Show

 One of my favourite Art Shows opens tomorrow night.
 It is always a fabulous , contemporary show, thoughtfully hung
and curated.
